New in the WeSwap app: Rate Tracker and My Card

We’re kicking off 2018 with a bumper release to the WeSwap apps, including rate tracking tools, a brand-new place to manage your WeSwap card and smart in-app security features. 🎉

Update to the latest version now and check out all the goodies in version 4.1.0.

RATE TRACKER

Currency exchange is a murky world at the best of times - especially when it feels like rates are fluctuating off the back of every headline or presidential tweet.

So at WeSwap, we spend a lot of time thinking about how we can help you navigate it as easily as possible, so you can get on with the more important business of enjoying your trip.

Introducing Rate Tracker.

live_rates

Rate tracker is the first in a series of tools we’ll be releasing this year which are designed to help everyone make the most of their holiday money, without needing to be an FX trader to understand them.

Where can I find it?

Open up your app. In the top right-hand corner of your wallet screen, you’ll see a squiggly, graph-like icon. That’s Rate Tracker.

What can I do with it?

See the live rate for any swappable currency, direct from xe.com.

Plus - and best of all - you can see at a glance how the rate has been doing over the last 30 days. What does this mean in practice?

If the rate is on the up, great – now might be a good time to swap.

If we’re in a bit of a dip, you can either hold off in case it improves, or swap now in case it gets worse.

Ultimately, it’s about showing you clearly where you stand, so you can make better decisions.

For future versions, we’re also looking at clever ways we can make optimising your rates even more seamless (think auto-swaps if the rate is in your favour).

MY CARD

Think you’ve lost your WeSwap card? Forgotten your PIN?

Now you can sort out both those things in the new My Card section of your app.

Panic over.

Where can I find it?

Right in the middle of the bottom navigation bar.

What can I do with it?

New users can activate their brand new WeSwap cards here. Once that’s done, you’ll see the options to block your card and get your PIN.

Blocking your WeSwap card means nobody can use it in case it’s lost, stolen or misplaced.

Any transactions while a card is blocked will be declined. You also won’t be able to load your card or create a swap until the card is unblocked again.

To do that, just tap Unblock. Sorted.

And finally, if you need reminder of your PIN, tap Get PIN for a handy recap by SMS. Once you’ve memorised it, don’t forget to delete the message for security 👍

And that’s it’s for now!

Update your apps to the latest version now to see all the newest features, and remember to check back often for more news on what’s in store.

Happy travels,
